History

History:

Known among the local diving community as "Shark Rocks" (Köpekbalığı Taşları), this site is a natural rock/reef formation that caters to intermediate and advanced divers. The specified depth range of 24–50 meters approaches the limits of technical and deep diving. Consequently, proper gas planning, prior assessment of current and visibility conditions, and surface support are of critical importance.

The diving infrastructure in the region, along with compliance with the rules set by authorized centers and the park management, enhances safety while minimizing environmental impact. Typical ecological elements of the site include gorgonians, sponge communities, and benthic organisms depending on the reef topography, though species composition varies according to seasonal and hydrographic conditions.

Diving Equipment Information

The equipment used for diving includes standard scuba gear. A 3–5 mm wetsuit is suitable between April and October, while a 7 mm neoprene wetsuit, a semi-dry suit, or a dry suit is worn between November and March.
